Color Tables Incorrect in IDL 5.5

Description of Behavior:

The color tables in IDL do not load properly. Any image loaded with
a color table appears to have vertical stripes. Here is a typical
IDL graphics window:

Note that as of 21 February 2002, RSI has a patch available for download to fix this problem.
